The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Risk & Assurance Specialist to join our newly established Risk & Assurance function in the Digital & Information Group. These roles will play a critical part in supporting one of South Australia's most significant digital transformation programs while helping to strengthen risk maturity, governance, assurance practices and decision-making across the organisation.

The position
Reporting to the Manager, Risk & Assurance, you will help identify, assess, monitor and report on technology, cyber, data and operational risks across the Digital & Information Group and Digital Transformation Program. You will partner with a wide range of stakeholders to embed effective risk management practices, improve controls and support assurance activities that contribute to successful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting risk and control assessments across digital, technology and transformation initiatives.
  • Monitoring emerging risks and providing meaningful reporting and insights.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of risk frameworks, taxonomies, control libraries and assurance roadmaps.
  • Facilitating risk workshops, awareness sessions and capability uplift initiatives.
  • Supporting assurance reviews, policy and framework refresh activities.
  • Monitoring remediation activities, audit findings and incident management outcomes.
  • Building strong relationships with leaders, project teams, vendors and business stakeholders to foster a proactive risk culture

This is a full-time, three-year fixed-term position.

About you
You are a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative and engage confidently with a broad range of stakeholders. You enjoy navigating complexity, challenging assumptions constructively and helping people make risk-informed decisions.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • At least 5 years' experience in risk management, audit, governance, assurance or compliance-related roles.
  • Qualifications in business, risk management, legal, information technology or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000 and their practical application.
  • Experience across technology, cyber, data, operational or project risk environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities.
  • Experience working within complex organisations, transformation programs or technology-focused environments will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with GRC tools and exposure to both public and private sector environments will be advantageous.

The total remuneration package for this position is starting from $120,369 (plus superannuation). The final offer will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and experiences.
