The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening the South Australian Return to Work scheme by shaping how medical, allied health and return to work service providers deliver quality outcomes. Your role is purpose‑driven with the capacity for genuine system‑level impact, improving injured worker recovery and return to work outcomes across the Scheme.

The position
Using your specialist skills, you will lead a risk‑based performance and oversight function focused on improving the quality, consistency and outcomes of medical, allied health and return to work services across the Scheme. You will design, implement and continuously improve a contemporary performance monitoring framework that identifies emerging risks and opportunities at a system level. Using data-driven insights, you will proactively assess provider performance, translate findings into targeted, practical interventions that influence behaviour and uplift service quality. You will work closely with ReturnToWorkSA’s Medical and Allied Health Advisors, setting direction and ensuring their expertise is effectively leveraged to influence provider behaviour and drive improvement. The role blends strategic oversight with hands‑on action, offering autonomy to use data, engage and collaborate with stakeholders in peer-to-peer conversations and drive continuous improvement across provider services.

This role will be a full-time, fixed-term position initially for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

About you
You are an allied health professional ready to step beyond individual cases and apply your clinical insight at a system level to influence and improve how services are delivered across the Scheme. With experience working alongside medical, allied health or return to work service providers, ideally in a Scheme, insurer or regulatory environment, you bring a strong understanding of provider behaviour, service delivery and the drivers of quality outcomes. You are analytical, comfortable working with data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and confident engaging with a broad range of stakeholders in constructive, sometimes challenging conversations, to influence, guide and drive behaviour change while maintaining strong professional relationships.
