The opportunity

The Team Leader Disputes and Resolution leads a team responsible for developing systems that enable Claims Agents to deliver timely, high-quality services to injured workers. This role is key in driving service delivery, ensuring service and performance expectations are met and ReturnToWorkSA’s strategic objectives are realised.

In this role, you will analyse claims performance, manage service parameters, align systems and policy and predict future performance. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact to the scheme, build on your existing leadership skills, and deliver services that directly relate to scheme outcomes.

The position

As the Team Leader Disputes and Resolution, you will lead a team of people responsible for managing disputation, resolutions, and recoveries, by ensuring effective strategies and processes are in place to minimise disputation and protect scheme boundaries, enabling the delivery of strategic objectives; by,

  • Driving continuous improvement of the service delivery model, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Design and implement operational policies and procedures to support effective claims management
  • Leading and inspiring the Disputes and Resolution Team to deliver timely, fair, and customer-focused outcomes
  • Supporting the oversight and performance management of external legal service providers
  • Managing scheme-related and third-party dispute resolutions and recovery processes
  • Overseeing the assessment and management of fatal injury Claims, as well as interim Serious Injury Applications

This role will be a full-time ongoing position.

About you

You are a highly capable people-leader with a strong understanding of the Return to Work Act 2014 and relevant regulations. You hold an operational or technical background in claims management within a personal injury or social insurance environment, supported by Tertiary qualifications in Personal Injury, Dispute Resolution, or equivalent relevant experience.

You have proven leadership skills, guiding teams to achieve excellence, innovation, and exceptional customer service. As a leader, you foster a culture of excellence and accountability while promoting cross-functional collaboration. You excel in research, analysis, and problem-solving, and can quickly build trusting relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Adaptable in fast-paced and changing environments, you are forward-thinking, and can make meaning of trends, analyse patterns and identify risks.

 Disputes and Resolution Team Leader - Position Description

The remuneration for this position commences from $166,500 (exclusive of superannuation). The final offer will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
