This includes providing strategic HR support and guidance to leaders, driving employee engagement and retention, managing talent and development and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and proactively managing workforce related risks.

The position 

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for, among other things: 

  • Providing guidance and support to people leaders in enhancing their own and their team's capabilities in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and industrial/employment relations. 
  • In conjunction with People, Capability and Culture colleagues, ensuring that the organisation’s industrial relations framework comprising of all relevant employment and industrial legislation, awards, agreements and regulations relevant to ReturnToWorkSA (particularly within the state-based IR system) is embedded and maintained.
  • Collaborating with leaders to design, assess, and review roles aligned with effective workforce planning. 
  • Participating in reviews of policy, procedure and business processes to ensure best practice, continuous improvement, effective risk management and legislative compliance. 
This role will be a full-time ongoing position. 

About you 

You are an experienced HR professional who offers strong expertise in industrial and employee relations, underpinned by comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements. With a background in HR business partnering within a medium-sized organisation, you bring broad expertise across the full employee lifecycle. This includes activities such as recruitment, organisational design and workforce planning, as well as a solid foundation in IT business partnering within technical settings.  

Proficient in HR systems, the Microsoft Office suite and job evaluation, you contribute to organisational goals through strategic projects and support transformation in a values-driven environment. You communicate effectively to build trust and quickly establish rapport with diverse stakeholders, while handling sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment. Focused on collaboration, coaching and delivering people-focused outcomes, your commitment to integrity, empathy and excellence enables you to drive meaningful and lasting impact across the organisation.

ReturnToWorkSA is a statutory authority that regulates South Australia’s work injury insurance scheme and provides insurance that protects workers and employers in the event of a work injury. This insurance covers workers for a range of financial supports, and the provision of recovery and return to work services; or where return to work is not possible, to maximise a worker’s level of function and community participation. We assist employers to respond effectively when work injury does occur, and to understand how to reduce the economic impact through prevention and supporting early and safe return to work.

The total remuneration package for this position is starting from $122,664 (exclusive of superannuation). The final offer will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and experiences.
